Questions we get, answered plainly
Everything below is the same answer you will get on the phone. If a question is not here, ask it — we would rather say "we do not know yet" than guess.
Do you work for Viking, or on Viking's behalf?
No. Ironwood Appliance Service is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Viking or its parent company. We use the Viking name only to say which appliances we service. If you want work carried out under the manufacturer's own program, contact Viking directly and they will route you to a provider in their network.
What does the first visit cost?
A flat $129 diagnostic. That covers the trip, the time to pull the appliance where it needs pulling, and the diagnosis itself. If you approve the repair, the $129 is credited toward it. You get a written estimate before anything is opened up or ordered, so nothing on the invoice is a surprise.
What is covered after the repair?
90 days on labour and 365 days on parts. We fit genuine OEM parts. If the same fault returns inside the labour window we come back and there is no second diagnostic fee.
Do you work on other brands?
No. We service Viking appliances only. Staying on one manufacturer is what lets us carry the right parts, know which revision of a control board is in front of us, and quote a job without a second visit to work out what it is.
When can you come out?
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 4:00pm. We do not run an overnight or emergency service and we will not tell you otherwise. Calls left after hours are returned the next working morning.
Can you work on the sealed refrigeration system?
Yes. Handling refrigerant is federally regulated and our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification, which is the credential that permits it. That credential comes from the EPA, not from any manufacturer program.
